Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• 2-3 years hospital registration, billing or collection experience.
• Knowledge of third party payors.
• Knowledge of the Allegra system preferred.
• Strong medical terminology background preferred; certification in medical terminology within one year of employment.
• Customer service experience preferred; excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsabilités

• Answers telephone in a timely manner with appropriate etiquette.
• Greets patients and families professionally and warmly.
• Coordinate incoming and outgoing calls including paging and messages.
• Assist with calling patients to confirm appointment times or callbacks.
• Enter patient demographics and medical coverage information accurately.
• Verify insurance information and scan documents into the system.
• Process radiology orders and schedule patients as required.
• Support technologists, nursing staff and physicians in patient care activities.
• Maintain organization and cleanliness of the work area.
• Attend department staff meetings and participate in quality improvement initiatives.
