Job summary

Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, IL is seeking a full-time clerical registrar for the Oncology: Radiation department. The role involves 40 hours per week with days and occasional weekend shifts, handling calls, registrations, and data entry to support patient care and scheduling workflows.

You will work closely with radiology staff and must have a high school diploma, 2–3 years hospital registration or billing experience, knowledge of Allegra and solid medical terminology.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• 2–3 years of hospital registration, billing or collection experience.
• Knowledge of third party payors.
• Knowledge of the Allegra system preferred.
• Strong medical terminology background preferred; certification within 1 year of employment.
• Customer service experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Answers telephone promptly with professional etiquette and greets patients and families.
• Process incoming/outgoing calls and assist with scheduling confirmations.
• Process paperwork timely and ensure accurate filing/distribution according to procedures.
• Data entry and documentation in hospital systems; maintain data quality.
• Register outpatients and verify insurance information.
• Assist with radiology orders scheduling and related patient information.
• Support technologists, nursing staff and physicians in patient care delivery.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area and adhere to safety standards.
• Participate in department meetings and contribute to service excellence.
