Job summary

Boston Medical Center in Boston, MA is seeking a Research Technician II in the Pathology Research department. You will provide ancillary support for high complexity testing and assist with histology, IHC, and imaging workflows.

Requirements include a Bachelor's degree (Master's preferred) and at least three years of lab experience; familiarity with LIS and data management is a plus. This on-site role offers 40 hours weekly and professional growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree (or equivalent combination of formal education and experience) required. Master’s degree preferred.
• Must have a least three years of laboratory research or clinical experience.
• Histology experience desirable. IHC and digital imaging experience desirable but not required.
• Knowledge of clinical laboratory science and standards necessary to perform high complexity tests as defined by CLIA.

Responsibilities

• Learn to digitize slides using the Leica AT2 and Versa Imaging System.
• Help maintain equipment and reagent/material supplies.
• After specialized training and required experience, performs moderate and high complexity tests and interpret them.
• Performs routine experiments and techniques such as histology, immunohistochemistry and special stains according to established protocols.
