Boston Medical Center in Boston, MA is seeking a Research Technician II in the Pathology Research department. You will provide ancillary support for high complexity testing and assist with histology, IHC, and imaging workflows.

Under the general direction of the Special Procedures Manager, provides ancillary support for clinical activities by performance and appropriate interpretation of high complexity testing. Applicant must meet CAP personnel requirements for performing high complexity testing and have a minimum of three years of lab experience.
Bachelor's degree (or equivalent combination of formal education and experience) required. Master’s degree preferred.
Must have a least three years of laboratory research or clinical experience. Histology experience desirable. IHC and digital imaging experience desirable but not required.
Knowledge of clinical laboratory science and standards necessary to perform high complexity tests as defined by CLIA.
Analytic abilities to perform highly complex testing as defined under CLIA 88 to interpret findings, perform calculations, calibrate instruments as defined by CLIA guidelines and so forth.
Ability to maintain compliance with all regulatory agency (e.g. JCAHO, CAP) requirements.
Ability to learn and integrate procedures/knowledge relating to clinical research, and data management techniques.
Good computer skills, including data entry and use of spreadsheet and database (MS Excel & Access preferred).
Excellent interpersonal and English verbal/written language skills.
Requires safe handling of potentially infectious materials or noxious chemicals, using appropriate hospital, laboratory, and bio-safety precautions.
Requires the manual/visual dexterity necessary to prepare specimens, prepare solutions, screen specimens and operate a computer software system.
Compensation Range: $20.43- $28.61 This range offers an estimate based on the minimum job qualifications. However, our approach to determining base pay is comprehensive, and a broad range of factors is considered when making an offer. This includes education, experience, skills, and certifications/licensures as they directly relate to position requirements; as well as business/organizational needs, internal equity, and market-competitiveness.
