Job summary

Troutman Pepper Locke LLP seeks an experienced IP Paralegal in Philadelphia to support patent prosecution workflows. The role involves managing US and international docket deadlines, filing with USPTO and PCT, and maintaining client worksheets. Strong organization and confidentiality are essential.

The candidate will work closely with attorneys and staff, handle IDS filings, name changes, and document management, while tracking time and supporting team training as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Minimum eight (8) years of progressive patent prosecution experience.
• Proficiency with US, PCT and international patent law.
• Strong organizational and administrative skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams, OneNote).

Responsibilities

• Ensure policies and procedures are followed day-to-day for assigned duties.
• Monitor deadlines for US and international dockets and provide timely follow-up.
• Review daily docket reports and coordinate with IP docket department.
• Prepare and file patent applications, pre-grant filings and related filings with USPTO and PCT.
• Efficiently manage IDS data and file IDS with USPTO.
• Prepare and manage recordation of assignments and name changes in US and internationally.
• Maintain electronic worksheets to assist attorneys in managing client requirements.
• Track and record billable and non-billable time per firm policy.
• Provide back-up support to other team members as needed.
