Job summary

Troutman Pepper Locke LLP is seeking an experienced Paralegal in the Health Care Life Sciences Practice Group to support patent prosecution matters. This role involves managing US, PCT, and international filings, docket coordination, and maintaining client worksheets under attorney supervision.

You will prepare and file patent applications, manage IDS data, and ensure timely responses to clients, while collaborating with attorneys and staff in a hybrid work environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required; or any combination of specialized training, education and experience.
  • Minimum eight (8) years of progressive patent prosecution experience.
  • Working knowledge of sequence listings highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure policies and procedures are followed daily and per firm guidelines.
  • Monitor deadlines for US and international dockets and coordinate with attorneys and clients.
  • Prepare and file patent applications, pre-grants, and related filings under supervision.
  • Efficiently manage IDS data and filings with the USPTO under supervision.
  • Manage recordation of assignments and name changes in US and internationally.
  • Review USPTO/foreign correspondence and respond to client inquiries on US, PCT, and foreign filings.
  • Utilize USPTO and related government resources and maintain client worksheets.
  • Track and record billable and non-billable time; maintain and prioritize daily workload.
