Job summary

Troutman Pepper Locke LLP is seeking a highly skilled Paralegal for the Intellectual Property (IP) Practice Group in a hybrid work environment in the United States. You will support US, PCT and international patent filings, manage dockets, and assist attorneys and clients with day-to-day matters, including a substantial annual billing component of 1,500 hours.

Candidates should have at least a bachelor's degree and 10 years of progressive patent prosecution experience, strong Microsoft Office

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; or equivalent.
• Minimum ten years of progressive patent prosecution experience.

Responsibilities

• Ensure policies and procedures are followed on a day-to-day basis.
• Monitor deadlines for US and international dockets; provide follow-up to attorneys, clients, and management.
• Review daily docket reports and correspond with the IP docket department.
• Prepare and file patent applications, pre-grant filings and related filings with USPTO and PCT.
• Manage IDS data and file IDS with the USPTO under attorney supervision.
• Prepare and manage recordation of assignments and name changes in US and internationally.
• Apply CFR and MPEP knowledge effectively.
• Review USPTO and foreign correspondence timely.
• Receive and act on client instructions related to US, PCT and foreign applications.
• Use USPTO and related government resources effectively.
• Create and maintain electronic worksheets for attorneys.
• Maintain the firm's official file in the DMS.
• Track and record billable and non-billable time per firm policy.
• Prioritize daily work and communicate if unable to meet responsibilities.
• Demonstrate teamwork within and among practice groups and offices.
• May participate in training of other paralegals.
• Be flexible to work with attorneys and staff as needed.
• Provide back-up support to team members.
• Manage workflow and communicate with assigned team.
