Overview

Come join our team as our next Pastry Cook at the AT&T Hotel and Conference Center, located in the heart of the UT campus! This is a Full-Time role – daytime.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prep, set up and prepare quality pastry/bake shop items, including pastries, desserts, breads, ice creams, sorbets, creams, simple syrups, jams, and displays/centerpieces, in accordance with departmental quality standards and specifications.
• Maintain organization, cleanliness and sanitation of work areas and equipment.
• Prepare food of consistent quality following Flik recipe cards.
• Date all food containers and rotate per Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
• Practice safety standards at all times.
• Bake/prepare orders as requested, including special requests.
• Start food items that are prepared ahead of time, ensuring not to prepare more than needed.
• Practice sanitation standards at all times and keep perishables at proper temperatures.
• Properly portion all items on the assigned station.
• Control food waste and usage per SOP; assist in planning actions to correct any food cost problems.
• Check pars for shift use, determine necessary preparation, freezer pull and line setup; note out-of-stock items or shortages and assist in keeping buffet stocked.
• Assist in prep work of vegetables and condiments for the next shift.
• Return all unused food items to designated storage, covering and dating perishables.
• Carry out, within capabilities, all reasonable requests by management.
