Job summary

Grand Hyatt Indian Wells Resort and Villas is seeking a Cook 4 to join its acclaimed culinary team in Greater Palm Springs. You will oversee food production, ensure consistency and quality, and train staff while providing leadership in the Sous Chef's absence.

The ideal candidate has 4+ years of line and fine dining experience, a culinary degree or related hotel background, and the ability to work across kitchen stations. Riverside County Food Handler's License is preferred.

Located in Greater Palm Springs, Grand Hyatt Indian Wells Resort and Villas offers a newly renovated property featuring 531 luxury guestrooms, suites, casita-style villas, and two brand new Celebrity Chef (Angelo Sosa) food & beverage venues. Set within the perfect backdrop of scenic Indian Wells, this property is a destination favorite, positioned to take hospitality to a new level in the destination.

The pay rate for this position is between $24.00 and $25.00 per hour. This reflects the compensation that Grand Hyatt Indian Wells Resort & Villas reasonably expects to offer, with individual salaries determined based on factors such as experience and education.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of all kitchen operations, with the ability to consistently deliver high-quality dishes that exceed guest expectations. Daily responsibilities include overseeing food production, ensuring consistency and quality, managing staffing levels, and providing training within the department. Key skills include culinary expertise, cost control, effective communication, organizational abilities, and a solid understanding of guest service. Additionally, the Cook 4 will be expected to provide leadership and guidance in the absence of the hourly Sous Chef.
