Job summary

Castle Education is seeking Pastoral & Behavioural Teaching Assistants to work in SEN/SEMH settings across Scarborough and surrounding areas. This rewarding role involves guiding students who may experience behavioural, emotional or social challenges to build confidence, independence and positive relationships while supporting their learning.

You’ll work Monday–Friday, 8:30am–3:30pm, in long-term supply roles, with friendly, supportive school environments and options for free meals or parking at

Qualifications

• Experience as a teaching assistant or in SEN/SEMH settings is preferred.
• Ability to build positive relationships with young people.
• Commitment to supporting behavioural, emotional and social needs.

Responsibilities

• Support students with behavioural, emotional and social needs.
• Build positive relationships to support learning progress.
• Help students manage challenging situations gracefully.
• Encourage independence, confidence and positive behaviour.
• Assist students to engage with their learning activities.
• Collaborate with staff teams to deliver pastoral support.

Salary: £15.00–£16.00 per hour
Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:30am–3:30pm

Castle Education are currently recruiting Pastoral & Behavioural Teaching Assistants to work within supportive SEN/SEMH settings across Scarborough and the surrounding areas.

This is a rewarding role where no two days are the same. You will work closely with students who may experience behavioural, emotional or social challenges, helping them to develop confidence, independence and positive relationships while supporting their learning.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Supporting students with behavioural, emotional and social needs
• Building positive and trusting relationships with young people
• Supporting students to manage challenging situations
• Encouraging independence, confidence and positive behaviour
• Helping students engage with their learning
• Working alongside experienced and supportive staff teams
• Providing pastoral support both in and outside of the classroom
