Castle Education is seeking passionate Specialist SEN Support Assistants to work across primary and secondary settings in York. This role supports children and young people with additional needs, communication difficulties, or challenging behaviour, offering flexible, school-based placements.

You can work 1:1 or in small groups, in regular schools or across settings. We offer part-time, full-time and ad-hoc opportunities with weekly PAYE pay and holiday pay, plus free training and CPD.

Qualifications

Experience supporting children with SEN, SEND, SEMH, autism or challenging behaviour.
Ability to work 1:1 or in small groups.
Comfort with flexible, school-based assignments.

Responsibilities

Support pupils 1:1 or in small groups to access learning.
Assist in classrooms and specialist settings as needed.
Help develop confidence, independence and life skills.
Adapt to different key stages and settings.

Specialist SEN Support Assistant - York | £14.24-£16ph | Flexible Supply

Castle Education are looking for passionate and reliable Specialist SEN Support Assistants to work across primary and secondary schools, specialist provisions and alternative settings. This is a fantastic opportunity if you enjoy supporting children and young people with additional needs, complex learning needs, communication difficulties or behavioural challenges, and want the flexibility to choose when and where you work.

The Role

As a Specialist SEN Support Assistant, you could be supporting pupils:

On a 1:1 basis
In small groups
Within a classroom environment
With additional or complex learning needs
With communication and interaction difficulties
With behavioural or emotional needs
To develop confidence, independence and life skills
To access learning and participate fully in school life

You may work across different Key Stages, although we will always aim to find you a setting and role that matches your experience, skills and preferences.
