Job summary

Castle Education in Scarborough is seeking High Needs Learning Support Assistants to help pupils with a range of special educational needs. Roles include 1:1 and small-group support across primary and secondary, with flexible ad-hoc, part-time and full-time opportunities.

Typical hours are 8:30am–3:30pm, with weekly pay and access to free training and CPD. Your work will involve helping pupils access learning, building confidence and supporting teachers and the wider team.

• Able to adapt activities to meet individual needs.
• Support pupils to access and engage with learning.

Looking for a rewarding role where you can make a real difference to a young person’s day?
We are recruiting High Needs Learning Support Assistants to work across primary and secondary schools, supporting pupils with a range of special educational needs and complex learning needs.

This is a varied and rewarding opportunity, with ad-hoc, part-time and full-time work available.

The Role

You could be supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis, within small groups or as part of a wider classroom team, depending on the needs of the school.

Your role may include

• Supporting pupils with additional and complex learning needs
• Providing 1:1 and small-group support
• Helping pupils access and engage with learning
• Supporting communication, independence and confidence
• Adapting activities to meet individual needs
• Providing consistent encouragement and reassurance
• Working alongside teachers and other support staff
• Supporting pupils across different Key Stages where required

You may have the flexibility to work with different age groups, although you will generally be based within one class or setting, allowing you to build strong, consistent relationships with the pupils you support.
