Job summary

Michaels is looking for an Event Co-ordinator to plan and run multiple events, including children's parties and craft classes, within our stores. You will engage guests of all ages, teach craft projects, and may perform face painting and related activities.

You will also drive add-ons like goody bags and balloons, communicate with clients and team members, and handle emails and calls. The role requires flexibility with event times and a focus on safety and satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Must have excellent people skills and be able to engage guests of all ages.
• Experience working with children’s events is preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication and organizational abilities.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate multiple events at once, including children’s birthday parties and other classes or events.
• Engage with clients of all ages by creating a fun and creative environment.
• Demonstrate and instruct participants, perform face painting and related activities.
• Facilitate add-ons like goody bags and balloons following company standards.
• Communicate events with clients and store team members.
• Handle administrative tasks such as emails, calls and paperwork as needed.
• Adjust plans based on client feedback and needs and create backup plans.
• Ensure client satisfaction and uphold cleanliness and safety standards.
