Job summary

Michaels is seeking a motivated Events Coordinator to deliver fun, engaging experiences in-store for guests of all ages. You will plan and execute kids’ birthday parties and other craft classes, guiding participants and ensuring safety and enjoyment.

You will help customers shop, support checkout, and collaborate with store teams to run events smoothly while upholding company standards and policies. Prior retail or customer-service experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Must have excellent people skills and enjoy interacting with guests of all ages.
• Experience working with children and organizing events is preferred.
• Strong written, verbal and nonverbal communication and listening abilities.
• Good organizational, interpersonal and creative problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate events in-store, including children’s parties and craft classes.
• Engage clients of all ages and create a fun, creative environment.
• Demonstrate and guide participants in craft projects and activities.
• Facilitate party add-ons (goody bags, balloons) to company standards.
• Coordinate with clients and store team members on event details.
• Handle administrative tasks: emails, calls, paperwork as needed.
• Adjust plans based on client feedback and develop backup plans.
• Ensure client satisfaction and uphold cleanliness and safety standards.
• Cross-train in Custom Framing and participate in daily store cleanliness.
