Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a detail-oriented Parts Clerk to support automotive service operations. The role focuses on accurate parts ordering, receiving, and distribution to ensure repairs stay on schedule.

The ideal candidate has automotive parts experience, excellent communication, and a proven ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced shop environment. This on-site position emphasizes teamwork and precise inventory control.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1-3+ years of experience with automotive parts (auto body parts bonus).
  • Customer Service oriented with strong organization under pressure.
  • I-Car Registered (working towards Gold Class).
  • Effective communication, both verbal and written.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and with others.

Responsibilities

  • Provide an exceptional and successful customer experience.
  • Proactively manage ordering, receiving, storing, dispatching and returning parts for each repair order.
  • Verify the accuracy and quality of parts received in a timely manner according to the production schedule and vehicle needs.
  • Ensure consistent execution of the WOW (Wow Operating Way) plan.
  • Communicate customer requests and needs to appropriate team members.
  • Work with vendors to order and receive parts indicated on repair orders.
  • Confirm the quality, correctness and quantity of parts received.
  • Accurately identify parts necessary to complete repairs in the shop.
  • Ensure timely parts distribution to the shop in accordance with the production schedule.
  • Enter parts invoices into the recommended Management Information System (MIS).
  • Label and track parts by the R.O.# and store them with the vehicle and/or scheduled repairs.
  • Communicate Parts Price Changes (PPI) to required team members.
  • Order and receive supplemental parts in the MIS.
  • Monitor performance of parts, materials and sublet vendors.
  • Ensure daily reconciliation of the parts vendor invoice history report (e.g. 043 Report).
  • Ensure invoices and credit memos are posted and filed/scanned in a timely manner.
  • Verify vendor invoices have the correct negotiated discount to maintain proper profit margins.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Job description

Requirements


  • High School Diploma or equivalent

  • 1-3+ years of experience working with automotive parts (auto body parts is a bonus)

  • Customer Service Oriented and strong organizational ability to manage pressure and conflicting demands and prioritize tasks

  • I-Car Registered (working towards Gold Class certification)

  • Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing

  • Strong attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy

  • Effectively manage a fast-paced environment, demonstrating multi-tasking ability while working under pressure

  • Working knowledge of vehicle repairs practices

  • Management Information System: Summit, Repair Centre

  • Working Knowledge of: Mitchell, Audatex

  • Parts sourcing: Car-part, Progi, APU, LKQ B2B

  • Solid problem-solving abilities

  • Above average computer proficiency

  • Above average organizational skills

  • Ability to keep up and succeed in a fast-paced working environment

  • Ability to work well with others and achieve common goals

  • Frequently required to bend, crouch, reach, handle tools

  • Lift in excess of 50 lbs. of materials
