Job summary

Qualifications

Job description

  • Inspire the team, help Customers succeed, and grow the business with integrity
  • Support sales and management functions on both sides of the business
  • Understand store systems, automotive systems, and parts knowledge; identify, troubleshoot, and assist with DIY projects
  • Develop and maintain Professional Customer relationships and grow related programs
  • Achieve financial metrics and maintain service and appearance standards
  • Achieve overall store sales goals and service objectives
  • Manage and grow Professional Customer relationships and sales
  • Build and execute Customer action plans and hold the team accountable
  • Select, hire, develop, manage performance, coach, schedule, and engage store Team Members
  • Ensure execution of inventory and operational standards
  • Coach Team Members to meet DIY and Professional Customer expectations
  • Perform manager-on-duty responsibilities, including coaching, floor and phone management, task assignment and completion, safety, and opening/closing duties
  • Foster a respectful and diverse environment for Customers and Team Members
  • Provide DIY services including battery installation, testing, and wiper installation
  • Assist the District/Region with other functions upon request
  • Work predominantly inside, with occasional outdoor work installing batteries and wiper blades
Requirements
  • Minimum of 50-55 hours per week, excluding meal break periods
  • Ability to work 5-6 days a week, 11-hour shifts, including rotating nights and weekends
  • Ability to work a schedule based on the needs of the business

  • Ability to become ASE P2 certified or ASE ready equivalent
  • Ability to execute and train project and product quality recommendations
  • Advanced parts lookup and sourcing
  • Ability to source from special order, FDO, second source, and other places
  • Ability to execute and train store operational processes, procedures, testing, and diagnostic equipment for DIY services
  • Ability to execute and train inventory systems and store equipment
  • Ability to execute and train POS and parts lookup systems
  • Ability to review and analyze P&L statements and business reports
  • Ability to recruit, select, hire, and develop quality Team Members
  • Ability to build and grow relationships with Professional Customers
  • Working knowledge of automotive systems preferred
  • Speak and write English; Spanish is a plus
  • Effective communication and relationship-building with Customers, peers, and upper management
  • Effective use of Microsoft Word and Excel; PowerPoint preferred
  • Ability to calculate discounts, percentages, sales increases, and gross profit percentages
  • Ability to hold others accountable, inspect work quality, and provide inspiring feedback
  • 2-3 years of experience managing a team of 10-20 Team Members in a fast-paced, highly dynamic retail environment
  • Successful experience managing profitability; proven financial and business acumen
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Valid driver's license
  • ASE certification preferred, but not required
  • Ability to meet physical demands, including frequent lifting/moving up to 50 pounds and occasional lifting/moving up to 100 pounds
