Job summary

CareMed Health Solutions is seeking a Wound Care Nurse Practitioner to deliver specialized wound care services to residents in long-term care facilities. The role requires AR NP licensure, board certification, and expertise in chronic wounds, with experience using wound Vac and DME.

You will work within an interdisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes. Responsibilities include prescribing appropriate medications, coordinating with facility staff, and collaborating with primary care

Qualifications

• Current, unrestricted NP license in Arkansas.
• Board Certification as NP.
• DEA licensure (optional).
• Clinical background in adult, family, or geriatric specialties.
• Clinical background of wound care; including chronic, debilitating, stalled, or infected wounds.
• Must be comfortable diagnosing and treating diabetic, arterial, venous, and mixed etiology wounds or Kennedy Ulcers.
• Must be comfortable staging pressure injuries according to the NPIAP.
• Familiar with wound care best practice and advanced wound care products.
• Experience with wound vacs and other DME devices.
• Strong preference for wound certification or willingness to obtain it.
• Experience in a long-term care setting.
• Ability to work with an EMR.
• Ability to work within an interdisciplinary care team.

Responsibilities

• Order, review, and follow up with treatments and diagnostic testing.
• Communicate with nursing home staff on a regular basis about changes in condition and care plans.

WOUND NP ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide wound care services for long-term care patients residing in skilled nursing facilities.
• Prescribe appropriate medications, including controlled substances in accordance with AR Law.
• Order, review, and/or follow-up with treatments and diagnostic testing.
• Communicate with the nursing home staff on a regular and as needed to discuss changes in condition.
• and/or the care plan.
• Collaborate with the primary care physician.

WOUND NP QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

• Current, unrestricted NP license in the state of Arkansas.
• Board Certification.
• DEA licensure (Optional)
• Clinical background in adult, family, or geriatric specialties.
• Clinical background of wound care; including but not limited to chronic, debilitating, stalled, or infected wounds
• Must be comfortable with diagnosing and treating diabetic, arterial, venous, and mixed etiology wounds or Kennedy Ulcers.
• Must be comfortable staging pressure injuries according to the NPIAP
• Must be familiar with wound care best practice and advanced wound care products; collagens, alginates, foams, silvers, etc.
• Must have experience with wound vacs and other DME, such as pressure relieving/ reducing devices
• Strong preference to having wound certification or be open to getting certified
• Experience working in a long-term care setting.
• Ability to work with an EMR.
• Ability to work within an interdisciplinary care team to coordinate patient care.
