Job summary

CareMed Health Solutions is seeking a Wound NP to deliver wound care services to residents in long-term care facilities in Arkansas. The role involves prescribing treatments and coordinating with nursing staff and primary care physicians to ensure optimal wound healing outcomes.

Candidates must hold an Arkansas NP license with board certification; DEA licensure is optional. Experience with wound care, EMR systems, and DME such as wound VACs is highly valued.

Qualifications

• Current, unrestricted NP license in Arkansas.
• Board Certification.
• DEA licensure (Optional).
• Clinical background in adult, family, or geriatric care.
• Clinical background in wound care, including chronic, debilitating, stalled, or infected wounds.
• Ability to diagnose and treat diabetic, arterial, venous, and mixed wounds or Kennedy ulcers.
• Staging pressure injuries per NPIAP.
• Familiar with wound care products (collagens, alginates, foams, silvers).
• Experience with wound VACs and other DME.
• Wound certification preferred or willingness to obtain.
• Experience in long-term care setting.
• Ability to work with an EMR.
• Ability to collaborate with interdisciplinary care team.

Responsibilities

We are currently seeking Wound Care Nurse Practitioners to provide wound services to patients living in long-term care facilities.

WOUND NP ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide wound care services for long-term care patients residing in skilled nursing facilities.

• Prescribe appropriate medications, including controlled substances in accordance with AR Law.

• Order, review, and/or follow-up with treatments and diagnostic testing.

• Communicate with the nursing home staff on a regular and as needed to discuss changes in condition.

• and/or the care plan.

• Collaborate with the primary care physician.

WOUND NP QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

• Current, unrestricted NP license in the state of Arkansas.

• Board Certification.

• DEA licensure (Optional)

• Clinical background in adult, family, or geriatric specialties.

• Clinical background of wound care; including but not limited to chronic, debilitating, stalled, or infected wounds

• Must be comfortable with diagnosing and treating diabetic, arterial, venous, and mixed etiology wounds or Kennedy Ulcers.

• Must be comfortable staging pressure injuries according to the NPIAP

• Must be familiar with wound care best practice and advanced wound care products; collagens, alginates, foams, silvers, etc.

• Must have experience with wound vacs and other DME, such as pressure relieving/ reducing devices

• Strong preference to having wound certification or be open to getting certified

• Experience working in a long-term care setting.

• Ability to work with an EMR.

• Ability to work within an interdisciplinary care team to coordinate patient care.
