Job summary

CareMed Health Solutions is seeking a Wound Care Nurse Practitioner to provide wound care services for residents in long-term care facilities in Arkansas.

You will prescribe medications in accordance with Arkansas law, order and review treatments, coordinate with nursing staff and primary care physicians, and participate in an interdisciplinary care team to optimize patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• Must have wound care experience and be comfortable diagnosing and treating chronic wounds.
• Must be licensed as an NP in Arkansas and board certified.
• Willingness to obtain wound care certification if not already certified.
• Experience in long-term care settings preferred.
• Ability to work with an interdisciplinary care team and coordinate patient care.
• Experience with wound VACs and DME is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide wound care services for long-term care residents in skilled nursing facilities.
• Prescribe medications in line with Arkansas law, including controlled substances.
• Order, review, and follow up with treatments and diagnostic tests to manage wounds.
• Communicate regularly with nursing home staff about patient condition and care plans.
• Collaborate with the primary care physician to optimize patient outcomes.

We are currently seeking Wound Care Nurse Practitioners to provide wound services to patients living in long-term care facilities.

WOUND NP ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide wound care services for long-term care patients residing in skilled nursing facilities.
• Prescribe appropriate medications, including controlled substances in accordance with AR Law.
• Order, review, and/or follow-up with treatments and diagnostic testing.
• Communicate with the nursing home staff on a regular and as needed to discuss changes in condition.
• and/or the care plan.
• Collaborate with the primary care physician.

Wound Np Qualifications And Education Requirements

• Current, unrestricted NP license in the state of Arkansas.
• Board Certification.
• DEA licensure (Optional)
• Clinical background in adult, family, or geriatric specialties.
• Clinical background of wound care; including but not limited to chronic, debilitating, stalled, or infected wounds
• Must be comfortable with diagnosing and treating diabetic, arterial, venous, and mixed etiology wounds or Kennedy Ulcers.
• Must be comfortable staging pressure injuries according to the NPIAP
• Must be familiar with wound care best practice and advanced wound care products; collagens, alginates, foams, silvers, etc.
• Must have experience with wound vacs and other DME, such as pressure relieving/ reducing devices
• Strong preference to having wound certification or be open to getting certified
• Experience working in a long-term care setting.
• Ability to work with an EMR.
• Ability to work within an interdisciplinary care team to coordinate patient care.
