Job summary

CSPNJ is seeking 2 Wellness Mentors to support members and the community within our Wellness Center. You will work closely with the Center Manager to plan, implement, and maintain daily operations and programs that promote wellness and recovery.

As a mentor, you will engage with peers, provide guidance, and help connect individuals to resources, housing, food banks, and other supports. This role values lived experience and strong interpersonal skills.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Peer Certification preferred.
• Ability to communicate in English, both oral and written.
• Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office).
• Knowledge of wellness, mental health system, and community resources in the region.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills.
• Willingness to disclose current or prior use of mental health and/or addiction services and speak openly on aspects of their individual recovery.
• Ability to work with individuals with mental illness in a caring and professional manner.
• Ability to carry out domestic duties.
• Bilingual skills are a plus!
• Must have a valid NJ Driver’s License with acceptable driving record.
• Lived Experience: CSPNJ prioritizes hiring people who use their own life experience dealing with mental health/substance use issues to inspire and support others.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the center manager and members to plan and conduct all day-to-day operations of the center.
• Identify community needs and connect with other organizations and agencies.
• Maintain knowledge of community resources to refer members to recovery and support services.
