Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Part Time Security Officer (Unarmed Patrol Monitoring) in San Jose, CA. You will safeguard clients across government transit facilities, and build a flexible schedule using our Claim a Shift platform.

As an Unarmed Patrol Officer, you will conduct routine patrols, deter security incidents, assist passengers and staff, and document observations with calm professionalism, reflecting Allied Universal’s culture of integrity and service.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to passengers, employees, visitors, and contractors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at public transit facilities and surrounding property.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of transit stations, platforms, parking areas, administrative buildings, and perimeter areas to identify and report security-related concerns, hazards, or suspicious activity.
• Respond to incidents, passenger concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate personnel and assist with emergency response procedures as directed.
• Monitor access points and public areas, help to deter unauthorized access and prohibited activity, and maintain a professional presence in a public-facing government transit environment.
• Prepare accurate reports and logs regarding patrols, incidents, observations, and interactions, following site-specific procedures and Allied Universal requirements.
