Job summary

Allied Universal, North America’s leading security provider, seeks an Security Officer – Part Time Enhanced in Washington, DC. This role offers fixed anchor shifts with the option to pick up additional shifts for higher earnings.

Pay rate is $20.00 per hour, supporting a flexible schedule including weekend hours. Responsibilities include customer service across campus, responding to incidents, and conducting unarmed patrols.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and campus partners by carrying out site‑specific procedures, policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem‑solving manner, following established reporting and notification procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of campus buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security‑related concerns.
• Monitor access points and observe campus activity, reporting unusual conditions, maintenance concerns, and policy violations to appropriate personnel.
• Prepare accurate daily activity reports and incident documentation, and communicate professionally with campus stakeholders and responding public service personnel.
