Job summary

Ruby's Place dba Restorative Pathways (RP) seeks a part-time Residential Advocate for the Emergency Housing Services program in Alameda, CA. The role provides on-site support in a residential setting serving families and individuals facing housing instability.

It is a 16-hour-per-week, in-person, non-exempt position with a pay rate of $26 per hour. You will monitor safety, provide trauma-informed support, and coordinate with Case Managers to ensure coordinated care.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Human Services or related field preferred.
• Experience working in residential, shelter, or social service settings preferred.
• Experience working with families or individuals experiencing housing instability preferred.
• Strong communication and de-escalation skills.
• Ability to remain calm under pressure.
• In possession of a valid CA driver's license, proof of insurance, and be approved by RP insurance as a driver.
• Able to complete all required background checks including fingerprinting and licensing requirements.

Responsibilities

• Safety & Environment Monitoring: maintain active visible presence and monitor areas for safety.
• Participant Support & Engagement: provide emotional support and trauma-informed responses.
• Operational Support: conduct room checks, maintain logs, and ensure a clean environment.
• Collaboration: work with Case Managers and leadership, participate in meetings and supervision.
• Other duties as assigned.
