Job summary

Ruby's Place dba Restorative Pathways (RP) operates a 150-bed shelter and provides trauma-informed support to survivors. The Residential Advocate will handle frontline direct care, monitor spaces, and ensure safety and respectful engagement.

This full-time, in-person role in Tracy, CA runs Monday–Friday 7am–3pm, pays $23/hour, and includes benefits such as medical, dental, and vision; vacation and 403(b) match. Experience in shelter settings and trauma-informed care preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential.
• Ability to stay calm and professional in high-stress or crisis situations is required.
• Ability to follow directions and work well in a team.
• Willingness to learn trauma-informed, survivor-centered practices.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct support to shelter participants, ensuring a respectful environment.
• Explain program expectations, schedules, and available services to participants.
• Respond to participant needs with information and referrals to services.
• Support participant engagement in daily activities and programming.
• Monitor shelter spaces for safety and adherence to guidelines.
• Record shift logs and incident reports accurately and promptly.
• Maintain clear communication across shifts with the team.
• Collaborate with coordinators and staff to meet participant needs.
