Job summary

Ruby's Place dba Restorative Pathways in Alameda, CA seeks a part-time Residential Advocate for the Emergency Housing Services program. This 16-hour/week, in-person role supports families and individuals facing housing instability with trauma-informed care and safety monitoring.

The position emphasizes collaboration with Case Managers, strong boundary setting, and the ability to manage multiple time-sensitive priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Human Services or related field preferred.
• Experience in residential, shelter, or social services settings preferred.
• Experience working with families or individuals facing housing instability preferred.
• Strong communication and de-escalation skills.
• Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Maintain active, visible presence within the residential setting and monitor safety.
• Provide emotional support and trauma-informed guidance to participants.
• Support daily operations, safety protocols, and shift handoffs.
• Complete required incident documentation accurately and timely.
• Collaborate with Case Managers and leadership to coordinate support.
• Maintain shift logs and ensure a clean, welcoming environment.
