Job summary

Ruby's Place dba Restorative Pathways (RP) seeks a Youth Advocate (PRYH) for part-time Saturdays and Sundays in the Oakland, CA area. 16 hours per week, non-exempt, with a pay rate of $29.87 per hour and benefits for part-time staff.

Responsibilities include supervising a group home for youth, providing emotional support, crisis intervention, and case-management assistance while coordinating with the Facility Manager. Local Bay Area travel may be required.

Qualifications

• High-School Diploma or equivalent and two years of full-time experience with the population to be served or equivalent education/experience as determined by CDSS.
• Two years’ experience as a member of the social work staff in a group home or short-term residential therapeutic program.
• 21 years of age or older.
• Integrity and good moral character to provide appropriate care to youth.
• Relevant experience and/or qualifications to work with youth and youth with special needs.
• Proof of immunity to vaccine-preventable diseases if working directly with UC, Varicella, TDap/TDAP, Influenza, and fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
• No history of child abuse or neglect or related civil adjudication.
• CPR/First Aid, TB test, and physical exam according to licensing requirements.
• Able to lift 25 lbs.
• Valid CA driver's license, proof of insurance, and RP insurance approval to drive agency vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Monitor the facility during day, evening, and overnight shifts.
• Provide emotional support to residents.
• Practice active listening with residents.
• Perform telephone screening for potential clients.
• Basic maintenance, cleaning, supervision, stocking, cooking, and inventory.
• Assist with data entry, filing and clerical duties.
• Provide confidential, trauma-informed services.
• Orient new residents to the facility.
• Provide back-up shift coverage as needed.
• Assist with general program operations and timesheet submissions.
• Participate in reflective supervision and document procedures.
• Other duties as assigned.
