Job summary

YMCA of South Alabama, Inc. is seeking a Maintenance and Facilities Director to lead across four branches in Daphne, AL. The role combines hands-on maintenance with strategic leadership to ensure reliable, safe facilities and reduced external vendor reliance.

You will oversee plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and facility systems while managing budgets, schedules, and staff development to sustain high standards for members and programs.

Qualifications

• High School/GED diploma required.
• Associate’s degree or greater preferred.
• Trade School (plumbing, electrical, HVAC, etc.) preferred.
• Three+ years’ experience in facility management or closely related field.
• Ability to work well with all levels of management.
• Working knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry systems and maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Communicate with the Executive Director/VP of Operations to set priorities and timelines.
• Ensure routine maintenance tasks are performed and standards are consistent across centers.
• Lead and support maintenance staff and field technicians across multiple facilities.
• Diagnose and resolve high-level or recurring issues and perform in-house repairs when possible.
• Coordinate resources and budgets, monitor expenditures, and maintain records.
• Plan and coordinate new projects, scheduling, materials, and resource allocation.
