Job summary

YMCA of the Jersey Shore is seeking an Assistant Maintenance Director to lead day-to-day maintenance operations across branch facilities. You will review, assign, and monitor work orders, personally perform complex repairs, and coordinate with outside vendors as needed.

Qualifications

• Requires 5+ years of progressively responsible facility management experience.
• CPO certification and boiler license (or willingness to obtain within 180 days).
• Knowledge of NJ Department of Health Standards is required.
• Experience supervising maintenance staff and coordinating with vendors.

Responsibilities

• Review, prioritize, assign, and monitor maintenance work orders.
• Personally perform repairs and coordinate with outside vendors when needed.
• Implement and maintain preventive maintenance schedules.
• Conduct regular facility inspections and address safety/operational concerns.
• Maintain records of inspections, repairs, and equipment status.
• Coordinate vendor visits and annual maintenance planning.
• Lead and supervise maintenance staff of two full-time employees.
• Respond to safety and emergency situations and escalate when required.
