Responsibilities

  • Greet and check-in candidates, verify identification, and communicate exam protocols.
  • Administer and proctor exams in a secure environment for multiple testing agencies.
  • Set up testing rooms for paper-pencil and computer-based testing.
  • Administer private testing sessions with accommodations and remote testing as needed.
  • Travel to offsite locations and NC prisons/jails to administer assessments.
  • Document and report testing irregularities to the test vendor and test center specialist.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues with the test vendor; maintain confidentiality and testing logs.
  • Ensure testing area remains neat and compliant; participate in trainings and meetings.

Job description

Pay Grade: Coordinator 5

This position is responsible for administering and proctoring assessments, professional licensure, and certification exams in a secure environment for multiple testing agencies.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the essential job functions satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the primary job functions herein described.

  • Complies with all testing policies, procedures and strictly adheres to testing guidelines
  • Greets and checks-in candidates, verifies identification, and communicates exam protocols to test takers
  • Reviews candidate's registration paperwork for accuracy and request revisions; if required
  • Communicates effectively when denying admission to candidates who are ineligible to test
  • Maintains confidentiality of testing materials, testing logs, non-disclosure agreements, and test scores
  • Sets up testing rooms and prepares materials for both paper pencil and computer based testing
  • Administers private testing sessions to candidates with approved accommodations
  • Administers both in-person and remote testing sessions to College and Career Readiness students.
  • Monitors and moves around the testing room to ensures students are properly seated to avoid testing irregularities and/or compromises
  • Travels to offsite locations to administer assessments
  • Travels to NC prisons and jails to administer High School Equivalency exams, as assigned
  • Documents and reports all test center irregularities to the test vendor and the Test Center Specialist
  • Troubleshoots technical issues with the test vendor
  • Keeps area neat and completes duties such as erasing note boards and sanitizing tables and keyboards after exam completion
  • Participates in scheduled in-service training, staff meetings and professional development trainings and activities as directed
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Ability to pass and maintain certifications for BEST Plus, Pearson Vue, GED, HiSET and TABE.
  • Ability to work in a library style (quiet) setting for long periods of time.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
