Job summary

Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center is seeking an Experienced Certified Surgical Technologist for a 20‑hour-per-week day shift with a rotating on‑call schedule. A $1,500 sign‑on bonus is available for a limited time and certification within one month of hire is expected.

This role supports intra‑operative care on a fast‑paced surgical team under RN supervision. Requirements include graduation from a CAAHEP‑accredited program and 1+ year of experience.

Qualifications

• Graduate of CAAHEP-accredited surgical technology program.
• New hires must obtain certification within one month of hire.
• Greater than one year of experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist and collaborate with the Circulating nurse to set up for surgical procedures with proper instrumentation, equipment and supplies.
• Pass instruments and supplies to the surgeon at the sterile field.
• Anticipate the needs of the surgical team during procedures and provide instruments and supplies accordingly.
• Maintain sterile field and aseptic technique throughout procedures.
• Contribute to sponge/sharp/instrument counts and policy compliance.
• Participate in quality improvement activities at the unit level.
• Comply with Lahey Hospital and Medical Center policies and safety initiatives.
• On-call availability for specified nights, weekends, and holidays.
