Job summary

Dollar Tree Stores in Albany, New York is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help with store operations, customer service and team development.

You will assist with day-to-day store activities, supervise and train associates, maintain clean, well-stocked floors and stockrooms, and ensure safety and policy compliance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical tasks.
• Strong communication and written skills required.

• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process all corporate directives related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional effectiveness of store fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, payroll/scheduling, cash deposits and receipts, and loss prevention.
• Maintain areas of the store to company standards.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to policies and safety guidelines; ensure staff follow policies.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Ensure a positive, safe environment for customers and staff.
• Responsible for maintaining cleanliness, restocking bathrooms, sweeping/mopping floors, and taking out trash.
• Other duties as assigned.
