Job summary

The Student Union, Inc. of San José State University operates the Spartan Recreation and Aquatic Center in downtown San José, California. This part-time SRAC Operations Assistant role supports daily operations, facility access, and safety procedures under the SRAC Operations Manager.

Responsibilities include enforcing policies, assisting with room setups, equipment checkout, and inventory, while maintaining a clean and welcoming facility for patrons.

Qualifications

• First Aid/CPR/AED certification (American Red Cross preferred). Online certifications will not be accepted.
• Must be a matriculated SJSU student and enrolled at least half-time during the term.
• Half-time defined as 6.0-8.0 units/semester for undergrad and post-baccalaureate students.

Responsibilities

• Enforce and interpret SRAC policies and procedures.
• Know day-to-day operations and the daily building schedule.
• Assist with room and court setup, break down, and event prep/cleanup.
• Conduct hourly room and facility counts.
• Assist patrons with locker lockouts.
• Conduct hourly tasks such as re-racking weights, cleaning gym equipment, refilling gym wipes.
• Assist with hourly SRAC walkthroughs.
• Assist with inventory counts for SRAC Operations.
• Assist patrons at the equipment desk and with checkout.
• Help night manager with equipment checkout inventory.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
