Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Speech Language Pathology or Doctoral Degree in Speech Language Pathology is required.
• 1 year Speech Language Pathology experience preferred.
• Licenses/Certifications: ASHA CCC-SLP and Virginia VDHP licensure upon hire; CPR/BLS certification within 30 days.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and diagnose speech, language, communication, and swallowing disorders.
• Provide aural rehabilitation for deaf or hard-of-hearing individuals.
• Provide augmentative and alternative communication systems for severe expressive/language disorders (e.g., ASD).
• Train and educate families, caregivers, and other professionals.
• Carry out treatment plans, modify to maximize benefit, and meet discharge criteria.
• Record progress and adjust plans as needed.
• Collaborate within multidisciplinary teams for patient care and participate in team meetings.
• Assist in training of team members, volunteers, and students.
