Job summary

Evergreen Public Schools is seeking a Special Education Paraeducator at York Elementary School in Vancouver, Washington. The position supports elementary and/or secondary students under the supervision of the Special Education instructor and building principal.

Work hours include school-day schedules with unpaid lunch, 190 days/year, and a pathway to salary placement based on experience. Benefits such as SEBB health coverage and paid leave are available to eligible staff.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old and have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Must meet one or more of the listed qualifications (ETS ParaPro score, college credits, degree, or apprenticeship).
• New paraeducators complete district-mandated training after hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one and group instruction to students as directed by the teacher.
• Assist in establishing and maintaining a productive learning environment.
• Assess student progress and collect performance data toward IEP goals.
• Maintain accurate data on student progress and assist in testing.
• Implement behavior management strategies as outlined by the teacher.
• Attend training sessions to stay current with student needs and regulatory requirements.
