Way Finders in Springfield, MA is seeking a part-time Residential Advocate (20 hrs/wk) to support families living in our shelter. You will provide positive customer service, assist with intake, and help with rehousing plans under the guidance of the case management team.

This role requires empathy, reliability, basic computer skills, and the ability to work evenings and weekends onsite. We offer generous benefits starting day one and a commitment to supporting residents and staff.

Qualifications

• 1 year of equivalent experience in human or social services frontline work, or a combination with a high school diploma
• Fundamental computer and Microsoft Office skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills, empathy and patience
• CPR certification as per program requirements (training provided)
• Bilingual English/Spanish is appreciated but not required

Responsabilités

• Provide exceptional, positive customer service and initial reception to families entering shelter
• Assist case manager with after-hours intakes and activities related to rehousing plans
• Provide process-driven backup during emergency incidents and call for assistance as needed
• Stay updated on community resources and make referrals as directed by case managers
• Update staff log during each shift with pertinent details
• Monitor building access and receive packages, mail, and visitors
• Respond to and report on serious incidents with proper documentation
• Assign and monitor weekly housekeeping tasks and conduct unit turnovers
• Assist in resolving problems during shift and enforce shelter rules
• Respond to residents' needs in a timely fashion and provide ongoing support
• Proactively manage inventory of program supplies and keep environment clean and safe
• Attend trainings and staff meetings as required
• Report maintenance needs following procedures
