You will help guests secure basic needs, provide crisis intervention, coordinate with case managers, and maintain a safe, respectful environment while complying with shelter policies. Flexible evenings, weekends, and holidays required.

Qualifikationen

• High school diploma or GED plus related work experience or an Associate's degree in social work or human services.
• One to two years in human services; domestic violence experience preferred.
• Must be organized with strong leadership skills.
• Bilingual Spanish is a plus.
• Must have a valid driver's license and reliable vehicle; travel between locations may be required.
• Computer literacy in spreadsheets and word processing.
• Able to work a flexible schedule.
• Reliable and self-motivated.
• Must pass background check, if offered position.

Aufgaben

• Maintain a safe and secure environment at the shelter facility.
• Provide emotional support and education to guests about domestic violence and adjusting to the shelter environment.
• Answer the helpline providing crisis intervention, emotional support, and referral information.
• Perform intake interviews and refer cases to full-time case managers if appropriate; orient clients to the facility.
• Support clients to secure basic needs: food, clothing, safety, transportation, education, etc.
• Help guests follow shelter rules and procedures, fostering trust and community.
• Assist in cleaning and maintenance of the facility as needed.
• Maintain communication with other shelter staff.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
