Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a part-time Security Officer (Unarmed Driver Field Coverage) in Washington, DC. You will patrol a retail site, drive as required, and maintain a visible presence to deter incidents while delivering exceptional service.

Schedule supports part-time shifts with a flexible, claim-a-shift platform approach. Ideal candidates have at least 1 year of security experience, a valid license, and compliance with background and drug-screen requirements.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of security-related experience.
• Valid driver’s license per Allied Universal policy requirements.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with laws.
• A drug screen may be required where permitted by law.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, customers, and visitors while carrying out site-specific security procedures, policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Respond to incidents, customer concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established reporting procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout the retail location, including sales areas, entrances, receiving areas, parking lots, and perimeter areas.
• Monitor for suspicious activity, access concerns, and hazards, helping to deter theft, unauthorized access, and other security-related incidents.
• Document observations, incidents, and patrol activities accurately and communicate relevant information to Allied Universal leadership and site contacts.
