Job summary

Harford County Public Schools seeks a Satellite Kitchen Assistant for Hall's Cross Roads Elementary to support the Food and Nutrition Services operation at the school. You will liaison between the principal and the production-school manager and assist in daily food service duties.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, ability to lift up to 40 pounds, and strong written, oral, and interpersonal skills. Training will be provided, and a driver’s license may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Strong written, oral and interpersonal skills are essential.
• Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Must meet health department hygiene standards.
• Physically able to lift up to 40 pounds.
• May be required to hold and maintain a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Receive and inspect incoming food and equipment for quality, quantity, temperature, and condition.
• Coordinate with the satellite kitchen manager and inform of progress or needs.
• Place selected food orders and communicate food and supply needs.
• Assist in training other staff at the satellite kitchen.
• Maintain POS computer accountability and daily/annual inventories.
• Help ensure sanitation standards and procedures are followed.
• Maintain positive relations with students, staff, and parents.
• Participate in meal promotions and ensure menu compliance.
