Job summary

Harford County Public Schools is seeking a Satellite Kitchen Assistant at Hall's Cross Roads Elementary School to support the Food and Nutrition Services operation at an assigned school. The role acts as a liaison between the satellite school and the production school’s management.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED, the ability to follow written and verbal instructions, strong communication skills, and physical ability to lift up to 40 pounds.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Able to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Meets health department’s personal hygiene standards.
• Strong written, oral and interpersonal skills.
• Physically able to lift up to 40 pounds.
• Individuals may be required to hold and maintain a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Receive and inspect incoming food and equipment for quality, quantity, temperature, and condition.
• Inform the manager of progress, problems, or needs at the satellite kitchen.
• Place selected food orders and inform the manager of food and supply needs.
• Assist in training and directing other satellite kitchen staff.
• Maintain point-of-sale computer accountability.
• Assist in following Health Department and HCPS procedures as directed by the manager.
• Ensure sanitation and procedures per Health Department and HCPS guidelines.
• Maintain pleasant relations with students, staff, and parents.
• Complete inventories of food, equipment, paper, and cleaning supplies.
• Assist in meal promotions and planning.
