Job summary

Harford County Public Schools is seeking a Satellite Kitchen Assistant for a 6-hour shift at Red Pump Elementary School. You will support food service operations, handle receiving, inventories, and promote meals in alignment with health and nutrition standards.

Responsibilities include assisting in managing orders, training staff, maintaining sanitation standards, and processing daily participation reports.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Able to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Meets health department personal hygiene standards.
• Strong written, oral and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Receive and inspect incoming food and equipment for quality, quantity, temperatures, and condition.
• Inform the manager of progress, problems, or needs at the satellite kitchen.
• Place selected food orders and inform manager of needs.
• Assist in training and directing other workers at the satellite kitchen.
• Maintain accountability for point-of-sale computer systems.
• Follow health department procedures as instructed by the manager.
• Ensure sanitation and Food and Nutrition Services procedures are followed.
• Maintain positive working relations with students, staff, coworkers, and parents.
• Complete and maintain daily and annual inventories of food, equipment, supplies.
• Assist in meal promotions and menu planning.
• Ensure food quality, portion control, and menu compliance with standards.
• Prepare daily participation reports, cash reconciliation, and deposits.
• Attend required training classes/workshops.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
