Akron Children's Hospital is seeking a part-time Medical Assistant to provide clinical and administrative support for students under the direction of a Provider and/or licensed Nurse in a school health setting.

Responsibilities include taking vital signs, assisting with exams, collecting specimens, documenting in the school medical record, and performing routine office duties. Requires medical terminology knowledge, an MA certificate program, and BLS; EPIC experience preferred.

Formación

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of an approved Medical Assistant Certificate Program, EMT, or Paramedic required; applicable experience may credit.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Medical Assistant certification preferred (CMA or RMA).

Responsabilidades

• Actively interfaces with patients and families in the school setting.
• Prepares patients for examination; takes vital signs; performs phlebotomy as needed; administers medications as directed.
• Collects data for assessment and discharge planning under supervision of Licensed Nurse.
• Collects, processes, and submits laboratory specimens per policy.
• Documents care accurately in the school medical record.
• Performs department-specific clinical duties (e.g., POCT, vision/hearing screenings).
• Maintains clean, stocked examination rooms and supports office tasks as needed.
