Job summary

Akron Children's Hospital is seeking a part-time Medical Assistant to provide clinical and administrative support under a Provider or licensed Nurse. You will interact with students and families, prepare patients for exams, record vital signs, and assist with lab work.

The role requires medical terminology knowledge, a high school diploma, and MA/EMT training with BLS. Proficiency in MS Office and EMR systems is expected. Onsite, part-time schedule with a 0.7 FTE load.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of medical terminology required.
• Experience in healthcare environment preferred.
• Experience with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) required.
• Experience with electronic medical records (EPIC) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Interfaces with patients and families.
• Prepares patients for examination; records vital signs; performs phlebotomy as needed; administers medications as directed.
• Collects data for assessment and discharge planning under supervision.
• Collects, processes, and submits lab specimens per policy.
• Communicates findings to Providers/Nurses.
• Documents care in medical records.
