Job summary

BARNES &NOBLE COLLEGE in California seeks a resourceful part-time Supervisor to support a management team and oversee store operations in the absence of upper management. You will coach staff on the sales floor, ensure outstanding customer service, and help maintain departmental and store standards.

Qualifications include 2+ years in retail, a high school diploma or GED, and strong communication skills. Evening/weekend availability is required; benefits such as daily pay and employee discounts

Qualifications

• 2+ years’ experience in a retail setting preferred.
• High school diploma/GED preferred.
• Outstanding customer service skills to match customers to products that meet their needs.
• Basic reading, writing and accounting skills required.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills needed.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Spend the majority of your time on the sales floor delivering, coaching, and modeling exceptional customer service.
• Maintain knowledge of all departments to provide daily support and guidance to customers and team members.
• Help resolve customer issues and escalate to management when necessary.
• Assist in the daily operation of the store in partnership with the management team and act as the Manager-on Duty in the absence of the manager or at satellite locations.
• Assist with processing sales transactions involving cash, credit, or financial aid payments as needed.
