Job summary

Barnes & Noble College is seeking a part-time Supervisor to support the management team, coach team members on the sales floor, and uphold exceptional customer service for the academic community.

The role requires a retail background, strong communication, and problem-solving skills, with availability on evenings, weekends, and holidays. California pay transparency information applies with a pay rate around $19 per hour.

Qualifications

• 2+ years’ experience in a retail setting preferred.
• High school diploma/GED preferred.
• Outstanding customer service skills to match customers to products that meet their needs.
• Basic reading, writing and accounting skills required.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills needed.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem solving skills.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Spend the majority of your time on the selling floor delivering, coaching, and modeling exceptional customer service.
• Maintain knowledge of all departments to provide daily support to customers and team members.
• Help resolve customer issues and escalate problems to management when necessary.
• Assist in daily store operations and act as Manager-on Duty in the absence of the manager or at satellite locations.
• Assist with assigning work and guiding team members to manage workloads.
