Job summary

BARNES & NOBLE COLLEGE is seeking a part-time Supervisor to coach sales floor teams and deliver exceptional customer service in a campus bookstore setting. The role supports management, oversees daily activities, and may serve as Manager-on-Duty at satellite locations.

You will handle sales transactions and ensure proper merchandising while maintaining store operations. The position requires 2+ years in retail, 18+ years old, and flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• 2+ years’ experience in a retail setting preferred.
• Candidates must be a minimum of 18 years of age to be considered for employment.
• High school diploma/GED preferred.
• Outstanding customer service skills to match customers to products that meet their needs.
• Basic reading, writing and accounting skills required.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills needed.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem solving skills.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Spend majority on sales floor coaching and modeling Wow customer service.
• Train and oversee daily work activity of team members in one or more departments.
• Maintain knowledge of all departments to support customers and staff.
• Assist in daily store operations and act as Manager-on-Duty in absence of management.
• Process sales transactions involving cash, credit, or financial aid payments as needed.
• Ensure the area is properly merchandised and store is operationally sound.
