Job summary

BARNES & NOBLE COLLEGE is seeking a part-time Supervisor to coach sales floor teams and deliver exceptional customer service in a campus bookstore setting. The role supports management, oversees daily activities, and may serve as Manager-on-Duty at satellite locations.

You will handle sales transactions and ensure proper merchandising while maintaining store operations. The position requires 2+ years in retail, 18+ years old, and flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

2+ years’ experience in a retail setting preferred.
Candidates must be a minimum of 18 years of age to be considered for employment.
High school diploma/GED preferred.
Outstanding customer service skills to match customers to products that meet their needs.
Basic reading, writing and accounting skills required.
Excellent customer service and communication skills needed.
Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem solving skills.
Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

Spend majority on sales floor coaching and modeling Wow customer service.
Train and oversee daily work activity of team members in one or more departments.
Maintain knowledge of all departments to support customers and staff.
Assist in daily store operations and act as Manager-on-Duty in absence of management.
Process sales transactions involving cash, credit, or financial aid payments as needed.
Ensure the area is properly merchandised and store is operationally sound.
