Qualifications

• Credentialed as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by NBRC and licensed in the state of practice.
• Basic Life Support for healthcare providers (BLS) required; advanced facility-specific certifications may be required.

Responsibilities

• Delivers prescribed respiratory therapies to achieve adequate oxygenation.
• Initiates, monitors and maintains mechanical and non-invasive ventilators.
• Evaluates current therapies and makes recommendations per protocols.
• Documents therapy results and communicates with the healthcare team.
• Performs blood sampling analysis and interprets results.
• Works independently across patient care areas and uses EMR effectively.
• Follows safety guidelines and completes regulatory requirements.
• Completes annual proficiency evaluation of respiratory care equipment.
