Job summary

Dollar Tree is seeking an Assistant Store Manager in Oak Lawn, IL to support store operations, customer service, and team development. You will help supervise associates, oversee daily tasks, and maintain merchandise flow from delivery to shelf, ensuring clean and inviting sales floors.

Responsibilities include opening/closing duties, executing directives, managing records, and upholding safety and policy standards while delivering friendly service to customers.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; ability to read and explain directives.
• Retail store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environments preferred.
• Must lift up to 55 lbs and perform frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing and pulling.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and written skills are required.
• Able to work in a high-energy, team environment with strong problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor; maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional displays and store-front fixtures.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged items, payroll/scheduling, deposits and receipts, and loss prevention.
• Keep store areas well-stocked and organized; protect company assets including cash.
• Adhere to safety guidelines and policies; supervise/train/develop Store Associates.
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment; interact professionally with customers and staff.
• Maintain cleanliness throughout the store, restocking bathrooms, sweeping/mopping floors, taking out trash, and keeping areas neat.
