Job summary

Dollar Tree is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to join our Decatur, IL location to support store operations, customer service and team development. You will assist with day-to-day store activities, organize merchandise, supervise associates, and ensure safe, friendly interactions with customers and team members while upholding company standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; ability to read and explain directives.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical tasks as needed.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills.
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions.
• Organize, transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Adhere to corporate directives and store policies.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged goods, payroll, scheduling, and cash handling.
• Maintain clean, well-stocked sales floor and stockroom to standards.
• Protect and secure store assets, including cash.
• Supervise, train, and develop Store Associates with a positive environment.
• Ensure a safe, respectful environment for customers and staff.
