Job summary

Dollar Tree Stores INC is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, guest services, and team development in Joliet, IL. You will help with day-to-day store activities, assist customers, and ensure merchandise and seasonal areas are well organized.

The role includes opening/closing duties, processing directives, and maintaining displays while protecting store assets. You will supervise and train Store Associates to uphold a positive, safe work environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Read, interpret, and explain operational directives.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 55 lbs and perform repeated walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, and lifting.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Help organize, transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom and sales floor; maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and related communications.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays; ensure store assets and cash are secure.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, payroll, scheduling, cash deposits, and loss prevention.
• Maintain a clean, well-stocked store and organized stockroom according to company standards.
• Supervise, train, and develop Store Associates; ensure a respectful, safe environment.
