Job summary

Dollar Tree Stores in Arlington Heights, IL seeks an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service and team development. You will help with opening/closing, merchandising, and daily activities to keep the store running smoothly.

Key responsibilities include assisting with payroll and scheduling, processing merchandise, maintaining safety and cleanliness, training Store Associates and ensuring a positive environment for customers and staff alike.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives is required.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs. and perform physical tasks such as walking, standing, bending, and climbing.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment is required.
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills are required.
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed
• Process corporate directives related to store activities
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, and record keeping
• Maintain clean, well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom
• Protect and secure store assets and cash
• Adhere to policies and safety guidelines
• Help supervise, train, and develop Store Associates
• Ensure a safe, positive environment for customers and staff
• Maintain cleanliness in the store including bathrooms and floors
• Other duties as assigned
